GSIS - GERMAN SWISS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Entry Process

GSIS is an academically rigorous school and their entry process reflects that. The assessment is run in a tier system with students having to complete a CAT4 assessment and a written English and Maths assessment. This process is similar in some ways to other Hong Kong International schools but it does have its own unique aspects. One of those being that the assessment does not take place on one day but over 2 days, a few weeks apart.

Stage 1:

The computerised CAT4 assessment features multiple-choice questions relating to Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Spatial Reasoning. The questions and level of difficulty are based on age.

Stage 2:

Students who score highly in the CAT4 assessment will then be invited to complete a written English and Maths assessment. The English assessment features both reading comprehension and writing composition. The Maths will test a variety of skills and concepts based upon the student’s age.

Stage 3:

Sometimes students will be asked to take part in a one-on-one interview as well.
